The Toho Water Authority (Toho) Board of Supervisors recognized the winners of its annual Drop Savers Art Contest during the April board meeting.
The contest, open to all students who live in or attend school within Toho’s service area, ran from December 2025 through February 2026. Its goal was to promote water conservation through creative expression. Students were encouraged to create artwork illustrating conservation themes or slogans.
This year’s contest saw an impressive response, with more than 2,200 entries submitted by students from 21 schools, including public, private, charter, and homeschool programs.
Thirteen winners were selected, representing each grade level from kindergarten through twelfth grade. Top entries from five grade divisions were also submitted to the Florida Section of the American Water Works Association (FSAWWA) for consideration in the statewide competition.
Schools also competed for art supply awards. Flora Ridge Elementary School earned recognition for submitting the highest number of entries, with 633 pieces. Mater Palms Academy, home to the overall contest winner, also received an award.
The overall winner, Isaiah D., fourth grade from Mater Palms Academy, was honored for an illustration featuring an alligator demonstrating various water-saving practices. Isaiah’s artwork also earned third place in the statewide competition for their division.
A limited number of contest calendars featuring selected artwork are available at Toho’s administration building front desk on a first-come, first-served basis.
