Southwest Water Treatment Plant Upgrades

Always Improving the Best Water

We’re excited to have started improvements to the Southwest Water Treatment Plant! These upgrades will enhance overall operations, boost system reliability, and continue delivering high-quality drinking water to our community. As part of this project, we are installing an advanced forced-draft aeration system to effectively remove hydrogen sulfide (that slight rotten egg smell) along with a modern odor control system.

How These Improvements Support Our Community:

  • Advanced Water Treatment: Installation of a forced-draft aeration system to remove hydrogen sulfide (which causes that "rotten egg" smell) so our water always smells as delicious as it tastes
  • Odor Control: A new odor control system captures and treats the hydrogen sulfide once it's removed before it's harmlessly released into the atmosphere
