Split Oak Estates irrigation services update
The reclaimed irrigation service provided by Toho Water Authority (Toho) to the Split Oak Estates community has been using potable water to provide service.
Toho now has the capacity to provide reclaimed water. In the near future, the irrigation service will be converted from potable water to reclaimed water. Customers using wells for irrigation are not affected by this change.
Letters were mailed to customers informing them of this conversion found in the documents section of this page.
What to expect
Before the conversion occurs, Toho contractors will be inspecting customer water meters and outside hose bibbs to make sure there are no cross-connections beginning the week of April 6. Cross-connections are connections to potable water sources where water could siphon back into the water distribution system.
These inspections will require shutting off potable water service at each residence for about 15 minutes. Customers will be notified beforehand of the service disruption. Customers do not need to be present when the inspections take place. Any cross-connections will be disconnected by Toho or the customer will be notified to do so.
After the inspections are complete, customers will receive a follow-up letter stating when the irrigation service will be converted to reclaimed water.
Costs
Customers will not incur any costs for these inspections and rates will not change as a result of this conversion.
