Observes equipment for proper operations during routine inspections.
Installs and programs remote telemetry, and installs new electrical and electronic equipment.
Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and some mechanical equipment and system components at the water and wastewater treatment plants and lift stations, including but not limited to valves, pumps, motors, electrical panels, and RTV units.
Provides safety information related to electrical and electronic equipment and attend safety meetings.
Prepares and maintains records of all equipment/system maintenance work.
Maintains electrical and telemetry inventory and orders parts and supplies as needed.
Works on an on-call emergency basis as needed.
Communicates maintenance activities and concerns to the supervisor and/or Chief Operator.
Requires a vocational diploma in electrical repair supplemented by three to five years of responsible experience in electrical maintenance and repair work in an industrial environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must possess a Journeyman Electrician license and a valid Florida Driver’s license.
